Vitamix class action lawsuit (deadline September 28, 2018)

Blenders sold from 2007-2016 shipped with canisters that were made with teflon. If you want a repaired canister or a store credit under this lawsuit, you will need to sign up on this website by September 28, 2018: http://www.blendersettlement.com

Thank you SO MUCH for this info. I had no idea; and I had even registered my 2 blenders.( I purchased them after a discussion about them here on VF!) I submitted the claim online, super-easy.

Thanks for the heads up. I had not even heard about this problem; just checked my blades and lo and behold, my unit is one of the problem batches. I use my Vita at least 5x per week too! Off to file my claim...

Are you choosing the Gift Card or the Replacement Blade Assembly?

I chose the replacement blade assembly. Simply because I'm not sure where to use the Gift Card.

Yeah, I think I was just randomly googling something about the Vitamix and this came up. I saw the Consumer report statement about it too, and then realized it was legit.

I chose the blade assembly because I don't want a canister with teflon lying around. But you can use the gift card on the Vitamix online store I think. The annoying thing about chosing the blade replacement is that you have to mail it in. They pay for shipping both ways, but you are without your canister while they are replacing it. I'm sort of hoping that problem is what the appeal is about.

What I wonder is, if it's so hard to see the black flecks, how did people know they were there?

I also chose the replacement blade assembly. The FAQ on the site claims that you'll have your refurbished canister back within 10 days of mailing the old one, so I'll make do with my cheap-o low-wattage smoothie blender until then.

So, did anyone try the fleck test? I just did, and I did see a couple small flecks of something. Also, did y'all notice that it could take a year to get this done? There may be appeals, it takes time to process claims, yada yada.

I still wonder how the original claimants saw such small flecks in their food or drink to even know they were there. I could barely see them in plain water.
