Trying to work on pull-ups at home?

Here is an idea for a makeshift assisted pull-up machine.

So, people don't use Iron Woody bands with their Iron Gym anymore? Heavy lifters all get Smith machines at home now? (Just curious...I don't lift heavy, but have wanted to be able to do pull-ups/chin-ups for a long time, and thought when I was ready to train that I would get the Iron Woody pull-up assist bands. I guess that video is a good solution for people who have a Smith machine.)

I have a pull-up bar and assistance bands.

Obviously most people won't have smith machines in their homes. But some people might have fluidity bars that might work? Or have access to playground bars or railings.

I actually didn't know if it was obvious whether or not people have Smith machines in their home. VFers have some impressive home gyms. And I don't lift heavy, so I don't know what's normal to get in your home.

This wouldn't work with a Fluidity, but people do a modified pull-up on the Fluidity by lying on your back. It's kind of a strange height for a railing, but sure if you have it. I guess it would work on a playground if you bring a plyo bench out with you. But mostly it seems like this is a good idea if you're in a full gym that doesn't have a gravitron.
