Firm Sculpting Stick ?

I tried searching for this topic but got lost through all the pages. I've just purchased a set of Firms from eBay that use the 8lb sculpting stick. I don't have one but do own a 12lb body bar. Can this work as a substitute for an intermediate level exerciser, or would it be too heavy/dangerous for some of the moves? I'm thinking I might buy a 9lb body bar, but not if I don't need to.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Should be okay

If you are accustomed to using your Body Bar you should be more than fine using it for the Firm workouts. I use a Body Bar for all of them because the Sculpting Stick is too light for me, and I've never had a problem.

You should be just fine. I don't think you will have any problem.

I sub my body bar for the FSS. Actually I like it a lot better. I was at my sister's house using her FSS and the stupid "twigs" keep wanting to fall off. That never happenes with my body bars.

I use a body bar as well. When they use just the "twigs" as they call them, I just use a pair of 3# dumbbells.

Isn't the Firm Scuplting Stick 12# and when you remove the handles, it's 8#?

Anyway, you should be okay with the body bar you have

I think the twigs are 2 lbs. each and the center weight is 4 lbs, making it 8 lbs. all assembled. I have sometimes used one of my body bars for the Firm stick workouts, but I use my stick a lot, too.

From the CollageVideo site:

Description: A 3-piece weighted bar especially designed for The Firm videos. Fully assembled, the 3-piece bar measures 48" and weighs 8 lbs. Or you can remove the two ending "twigs" (2 lbs. each) and use them individually as light handweights. The center of the bar is padded for extra comfort and control.

I use a dowel for balance and my own poundage in Firm workouts. It always amounted to more than 8 pounds. My Danskin Barbell, which can be 6#, 12#, 16# or 22# works great!
