Alta, be safe!

I had some minor in-office surgery on a finger this week. Not really a big deal but I took a few days off to rest because I have a desk job and type all day. It's wrapped up like a Tootsie Pop. Spent the entire day yesterday napping and reading.

Has anyone tried binaural beats for meditation, sleep or relaxation?

I have tried for sleep. I'm not sure I've noticed a difference but I fall asleep easily most nights anyway. My problem is lousy quality sleep. Maybe I should experiment and listen to the same thing every night for a week to see if I can tell a difference. If I do, I can report back.

I have. Not for meditation or prayer, but for sleep and to help with focus and concentration when I'm studying or writing.

I found a binaural beat guided meditation that helped me sleep back about 15 years ago, when I was first struggling with perimenopause. I still use it when I have a problem dropping off to sleep or when I wake at 3 AM and can't get back to sleep. I've forgotten the wave length of that particular track. I also have tracks of delta waves that I'll use occasionally. I've heard that the delta waves, used during REM, can deepen REM.

For focus/concentration, I stick with alpha waves.

I used some guided meditations by Kelly Howell of Brain Sync several years ago when I had trouble falling asleep. I can’t remember the name of my favorite, but it worked well enough that I never heard the end of the meditation. It led you to envision a golden garden where the sunlight shown gently down and relaxed you. And so on. I should dig it out again.

Oops, forgot what i came here to post.

My attempt to work on peace of mind and relaxation got waylaid. I made a huge step forward, then got hit with the news that coronavirus has been confirmed in my workplace. I knew it was just a matter of time, but I’m still worried and frustrated.

It wasn’t 5 minutes after the announcement, including a reminder to wear your masks and wear them properly, and people were already pulling their masks down to talk. And a vendor took her mask off to sneeze!

I don’t get these people.

YADeb, that is unbelievable about taking off the mask to sneeze! I mean, I shake my head at your coworkers too but the vendor, just wow!

My schedule is off bc of family visiting so I'm not doing my morning routine which leaves devotions and meditation till the last things of the day. I want to keep my streak going but man am I beat!

I limit my visit to the Miasma (FB) to 5-10 minutes in the afternoon, to see if anyone has a birthday or posted anything personal. If anyone posts more than one political thing in a month, I unfollow or unfriend them. Ignorance is bliss.

7 Minutes of Qigong with Lee Holden every morning after coffee.

Indulging in reading a bit most mornings on the front porch under the fan.

Working in my yard, and cooling off in the pool.

Bedtime tea and heated neck pad ritual in the evening.

Tasty lunchtime meals that I can cook up in a batch to last all week.

I also love Kelly Howell's Guided Meditation. The best I've ever heard. I've listened to it hundreds of times in my life, mostly during lunch break back when I was working in a fast paced startup. I still put it on if I'm especially frazzled, which I rarely am nowadays.
