Heart rate monitor

What is everyone using to monitor their heart rate? I've had a Polar for so many years that last night the strap with the built-in monitor broke in two. Now it looks like Polar sells the strap & watch separately?

I've been watching this thread in hopes someone would speak up. My ancient Polar finally bit the dust this past year. The watch and the band both eventually broke. I used a rubber band to hold the watch band together but once the chest band broke in two pieces, I knew it was time to say good-bye. I absolutely can't complain, as they worked great for years.

I have faithfully used Polar heart rate monitors. I have tried others but I find that Polar monitors are the most accurate and sturdy. Thanks to a generous Christmas present, I have just transitioned to the Polar a360 which is not only a heart rate monitor but a fitness tracker so it tracks your sleep, tells you to get up and get moving, etc. When you are actually working out, you let the watch know you are doing a workout, and it will track your heartrate, calories, etc like a regular heart rate monitor will. (I imagine all the fitness trackers do this, but I am new to the whole fitness tracker thing)
The best part is it does not have a chest strap that can break or die. It is all done with the wrist. Here is a link: http://www.polar.com/ca-en/products/sport/A360

Mind you, that is the Canadian site. It is probably much cheaper in the States.

I feel that Polar is most reputable and accurate. I highly recommend the A300. You wear the strap during workouts (only) but the watch all day which tracks total daily calories, steps, sleep etc.

This is great news....I've been going between the Garmin Vivofit 2 and the Polar 300 for months!! I finally decided on the Polar because that's what I've been using for years. The reviews were helpful but it's nice to know that the Polar is the one you folks use. I don't have it yet but I'm excited to see my activity through out the day. I typically wkout to Cathe, Michelle, Paul Katami, Patrick Goudeau, Amy Dixon, Toby Massenburg. In other words...Holy Crap kind of wkouts!!
