My Fitness Pal or Lose It

Hi guys,

I am looking for a good app to track my food and activity intake. I have narrowed it down to my fitness pal and lose it, but can't seem to decide. What have your experiences been with these two apps and which do you prefer?

TIA,
Julia

I like the Lose It ap. I think both aps are free for all devices. Why not download both and use both for a week to see which you prefer?

I don't know about my fitness pal, but Lose It allows you to "add buddies" and share progress with them, if that appeals to you.

ETA: Also, I know Lose It lets you scan a nutrition label with your smart phone. Which saves lots of time when logging. It doesn't have a "barre" category built into the exercise menu, but it lets you create your own additions to the menu.

I haven't tried the Lose It app. I have used My Fitness Pal to lose about 25 pounds. I enjoy it and find it easy to use. You can add buddies on my fitness pal as well and there are forums you can join as well.

i like lose it.

it's probably more a case of that's the one i downloaded first (as a matter of fact... it's the very first app i ever downloaded when i knew i was going to be ordering my iphone!)

i downloaded my fitness pal but since i was already familiar with lose it and had recipes, favorite foods and other info already.... i just stuck with that instead. i like the improvements they've made over the years!

My Fitness Pal has a bigger more detailed food source.

I tried Lose It and had a hard time finding what I was looking for.

I eat a lot of whole foods and My Fitness Pal lets me calculate by grams.

I have a scale and weigh a lot of what I eat. It also has a scanner that saves me a lot of time looking up items.

I use LoseIt! and love it. I would highly recommend it, and I have recommended it to many people.

I like both and many people I know like both. My Fitness Pal does have a larger foods data base though.
