Talking about slowness - I just have to share my recent experience My postal route carrier was charged with stealing people's mail looking for GC. I would have never know but sent my niece her birthday card with a check and it was odd that she never thanked me.

A couple months later I received from the postal attorney general a letter saying this was confiscated during their search of a postal worker and in it was my card and check for my niece. I felt horrible that she didn't get it but then was even more surprised that my route carrier would do such a thing.

I guess they had been investigating her for a while and of course had to keep everything they found until she was charged. From what we can tell she was looking for GC's or cash. Mine was a check so she couldn't cash it. I am not sure how she was caught or if someone (or people) were complaining about mail not getting to where it should be.

To this day I just say why, she was our carrier since we moved to the area almost 20 years ago. She was always friendly and if we had packages she would put them inside our garage along with any mail. if we seen her she would chat for a few minutes. I just don't know what happened or why she would have done this. Those questions will never be answered but it is hard to put anything in my mailbox now wondering if it will get to where it is supposed to.

Rhonda, wow, that's awful. It was rotten behavior but I sorta feel for her, too. Something must have happened to tweak her that way.

Makes me wonder if she had a gambling addiction.

Same here. I live in proximity to casinos and embezzlement cases crop up from time to time. In most cases people are shocked because the person is the last one you'd expect.

Y'all made me look and my giftee's package was mailed the day after thanksgiving (2 day shipping) and it doesn't even show that it has left my city- just 1 post office to the next I guess, and says delayed. No other explanation.that is so sad.

And I am horrified by y'alls stories. I was a small child when it was this way, but postman and officers, etc.. all acted like working with or for the gov't was so important and they acted so kind and respectful. Bless y'all! i pray my giftee gets their's soon!! - and everyone else.
