Rediscovered my Powerbelt

Anyone still have theirs? Anyone still using theirs? I found mine in a drawer and decided to try it w/ my Leslies. The only problem is that the rubber on the handles is flaking off so I have little black specks stuck everywhere.

PS - any anti-rubberflaking ideas?

I eliminated the handles altogether. They reminded me, somehow, of a manual transmission automobile. Now I use wrist weights or light hand-held weights for the arm-toning moves and am much happier!

Is this the Power Belt you're talking about?

If so, we were just discussing this in another thread here somewhere. I love mine and have always loved mine. I've had it for at least 7 years and use it all the time. It's my very favorite piece of fitness equipment. It's so much better than the cheap version Leslie came out with. I love it that it had the different tension packs, so you can really up the intensity.

a very kind VFer gave me hers. i paid for shipping. i also got 3 videos on vhs - wonder if they were ever converted to DVD or if they're on Youtube? i never viewed the vhs videos! i've used it with my leslies and outdoors a lot.

i like using them, and yes, the black specks are coming off. but otherwise they're great. i wore my HRM and noticed that my HR goes up once you start pulling on the for resistance while walking.

i notice that on amazon, the image is of denise austin, but when you click on it, it becomes chris freytag.

Yep, that's the one! I bought mine in 1996, so it's an old gal (like me!). I've kept it all these years, and am going to use it again. Gotta do something with the black flakes, though. They are everywhere!

Hee hee, was planning to use it this morning w/ my Leslie, but forgot to put it on.

Gams, there was another thread last week. I posted on it. I have been debating what to do with mine. I haven't used it in years. I remember it was a bit uncomfortable but maybe now I'll try it again.

It was a gift from my mom. I wonder if it would work in kickbox workouts?

I'm going to schedule a workout with it this or next week.

Hey, I still have this! I have not used it in a very long time. I should probably use it next time I walk on the treadmill. It is much better than the Leslie version.

This a.m. I dragged out my power belt. Mine is also "shedding" black flecks.

I used it with the Annie Mairs Core Force workout. She holds 1lb hand weights. I liked it. The 1lbs were a bit easy but I have DOMS from doing Firm Tough tape 2 yesterday so I didn't want to push it.

I have the inserts up to 4lbs. I think next week I'll try it with a Leslie.

I'm glad I rediscovered this. I was getting a bit bored with my workouts so this will add a new dimension to them.

I still get the feeling we're not all talking about the same belt. Bebop - your belt has weighted inserts? My Power Belt has clip on tension packs, but they are for resistance - they are not different weights.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones - mine has never shed any black flecks.

My belt has power tension inserts - they are round. They are in different weights 1 - 4 lbs. When you want to increases the weight you pop in another higher tension packet.

This was advertised by Kathy Smith.
