I like the Gliding discs (Mindy's). I also have a set of furniture movers (similar in shape to Valslides) but I don't like them as much.

I like Gliding for cardio, but I find most Gliding DVDs are more for toning and are slower paced. My fave thing to do is to use them and just go free-form wild and sort of do athletic moves with them like skating, side to side, etc. I wish someone would make a DVD like this. I've often thought about it but I wouldn't have a clue. I also like one Mindy has tht sounds really silly, but it is fun. She did it with a "pole" dancer or some kinda dancer lady and it's really fun. It's called Gliding Gone Wild I think. It is sort of like a Burlesque type gliding workout which sounds like it doesn't work,, but in some strange way, it does for me!!!

I still love putting on my own music and going to town. I prefer Mindy's Gliding discs, they slide the best on carpet and stay on your feet well.

+1. IMO, Jane's are much better than Mindy's and Cathe's but are extremely hard to find now. It took several months before I could locate a second set, after many futile searches on ebay & craigslist and writing directly to the distributor.

Can either of you explain what is different about her gliders that make them work on puzzle mats? Is it the material or the shape or something? I'm struggling with this right now, and trying to figure out how to glide on my puzzle mats. I guess if I have to, I can throw down a piece of berber-style carpet, but I'd rather find discs that actually work on the mats!

Has anyone used Cathe's new discs on mats? Will they work at all?

Thanks for any assistance.

I had Mindy's for carpeting and her's do work better than Cathe's. However if you rub wax papper on the bottom of the Cathe's they slide better but still not as great at Mindy's. Cathe's though give you the hardwood and caroet version in one and I do like them for the hardwood.

As far as workouts go I only have Slide n Glide from Cathe. It's a fun workout but I prefer the toning-only premix. I have found that adding the dics into other workouts have been beneficial however; I can now do lunges without knee pain. They're pretty easy to sub into most workouts. Cathe's Hi Reps and STS TB also use the Discs but it's not a Disc workout.

A spray silicone might help them slide easier on the puzzle mat.
Some people say paper plates work. Have you tried that?

The Jane Fonda sliders remind me of the furniture sliders that you can find in the hardware section of the store. I haven't actually compared them, but they look very similar.
