Didn't know this- Navy Seal workout instructor died

I was looking up the Navy seal workouts that are sold on collage and wanted to see if there are any new ones. When I went to Scott Helvenston's web site site, it said he was one of the contractors killed in Iraq on the attack in Fallujah. I had no idea!

I got his workout set well after it happened and didn't know myself at first either. Very sad.

Yes, that was years ago when the Iraq war had just started. I posted about way back when. Not sure where my old post is, but it is tragic, no matter when it happened. I had even sent his family a condolence card and stated that everyone at VF sent their sympathy.

I LOVE the Navy Seal workouts with Scott and have quite a few. Definitely worth acquiring some!!

Pretty horrible and a terrible waste!!! Every time I do one of Scott's workouts I say a little prayer for he and his family!

I have Scott's Navy Seal workout dvd and I, too, didn't know he died until after a year of using his workouts. I haven't done that dvd in a long time because it's hard to get myself to do it now as a result of his death. It's like losing a friend

I did a couple searches but nothing turned up. Thanks for the link to the thread. It was a while ago, back in 2004. I had no idea but I was also pregnant, new mom back then so that must explain why I was out of the loop. I'm torn between getting these but I'm not sure if I will be able to do them because it would be sad. But I may by them anyway and give it a shot. I can always look at it as honoring his memory and contributing to his family. Still very sad though.

DH does these workouts often.

I did Scott's Ultimate Aerobics last year and injured my hip. Just over a year later, I am finally feeling normal again. No more jumpy cardio for me!

All the more reason to do them, in honor of Scott. They are fun, and if you like military callistenics (I DO!) then they'll be perfect. Still sad, but a great way to honor Scott.

Yes, he took the job because he needed the money for his family. I know that he had issues with the professionalism of Blackwater right up until his death-- he had written about it to his family.
