Thanks for starting a new thread AnMrsDe! I’ve looked at Angie’s workouts but I haven’t tried one yet. Her lipstick is a bit distracting but I won’t even notice it if I like the workouts.

I think everyone in in a bit of a funk too, I know I am. I really want things to go back to normal but that probably won’t happen until well into 2021. Kind of just gets me down. It’s been tough for me going back to work. I’m exhausted at the end of the day. I’m really thankful that I’m working but between wearing a mask all day and babysitting adults that aren’t worried about social distancing it just wears on me.

I’m just so happy that I already had workout equipment because it’s really pricey to buy anything right now. I could use another set of 10, 12, and 15 pound dumbbells but there’s no way I’m paying $2-$3 per pound for them so we just make due with what we have and I use a kettlebell anyway if possible. Who knew that we would be prepared for pandemic fitness??

Tangerine I love full body Barlates workouts! They make me feel stronger and more flexible than with anything else I’ve ever done. I think it’s all the dynamic core work. I would really recommend the Endurance 90s and Bodyweight Basics. They’re like Tonique lite. I’m not so much into the one body part ones, it just takes a lot more planning than I’m willing to do.

I hope everyone is surviving the heat and staying safe

Thanks Jane, I really like the look of the Bodyweight Basics, saved them to my bookmarks! I'm working my way back from a knee injury/general weakness from neglecting strength work so I like that her targeted workouts really help me to feel the muscles engage and work. I'm working on building up to her longer workouts, she has so many that look interesting!

I'm glad I have equipment too! The only thing I've been able to find at the stores has been 10 lb kettlebells and I already have that size. I have been able to get exercise bands from online, the regular kind and just got some thicker 'booty bands', looking forward to trying those. The prices for dumbbells (which are only available on FB marketplace, sold out in stores) are crazy here too.

Chrys, thought of you when I saw this - https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/26/u...hina-mail.html - hope you didn't get any! The whole thing is weird, the seeds have been sent to thousands of people.

AnMrsDe, you're right, the daily workouts help so much - great for exercise endorphins!

Tangerine and Jane, I've been in a Barlates kick for the last year and half. I'm really not sure why I am so attracted to them. I'm usually an old school workout type of gal. I think it's because I feel like I have accomplished so much when I finish one. I find the functional ones that have a lot of up and down to be the most difficult. I actually like both the total body and the parts ones. When I do the parts workouts I usually combine them with a short cardio, classical stretch or yoga workout.

Tammy I was just talking to my sister yesterday about “up and down” exercises. We were talking about exercises that really get your heart rate up besides running and spinning and high impact style aerobics. I really feel those up and down moves! I used to really hate those moves, and hey I don’t always feel like doing them every day, but I really feel like they make you so much fitter!! I think Barlates paired with some cardio is perfect!

Tammie, I'm happy to find yet another Barlates fan on here! I started doing Linda's workouts after I injured my knees and had to give up the cardio I was doing daily. Now I really enjoy working out with all her creative moves and feel stronger every time I do them. You're right, they are so challenging, you feel like you've accomplished something when you finish versus just going through the movements.

CharM, Leslie is 59??!! Wow she certainly doesn't look it...

Jane, I can see how keeping adults in line and 6' apart must be exhausting! When we went out of town at the beginning of the month, we went to a casino and I can see how people can get in your face! Thank God DH & I chose to wear our masks even though it wasn't mandatory where we went. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on our side (maybe made $50 or broke even), but I made up for it at a nearby outlet mall LOL! I am SO not a gambler(!!), but we went with our friends and we had fun and it was so nice to go somewhere (safe)!!!

Anyway, good luck if you purchase some new dumbbells. I feel so fortunate for my workout area and equipment!! However, I purchased online a new aerobic step as a late Anniversary gift...came today. I had a Reebok step (still in mint condition after all these years of hard use, but I wanted just a topper to use and that step doesn't have that). I think it will be great - it may even be like Cathe's, although mine only have 4 risers (2/each side which is all I need). It was a great price - came under $50 since I had some points to use...

Waves to all~~ Have a great August!!! http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=229140
