I can't see how the extra length would hurt, as long as you've got room for it. It makes sense that the top of your foot and shin might bear too much weight also, so the mat length would help cushion them too. I wish I had the long one! Hope you like it.

The XL is pricey but looks nice: http://sicksport.com/popup_image/pID/1387

I have the room for it, I just didn't know if the regular pad was long enough to support your knees and your the supporting shin as well. Its pricey but I was already thinking about investing in a good mat anyways. Would it be good for ab exercises or is it too soft to support lower back during ab crunches?

Yeah, that's the pic that got me thinking. It seems like a good investment if you are doing Meta or any other workout on your knees

I don't know. I've always known it as an instability cushion for balance work. The short version (which isn't that short at 16"x20") works well for an ab challenge when doing teasers or the 'boat' exercise. It's also great to stand on for one-legged work. But I personally wouldn't use it as a general exercise mat because I think it's too soft.

I see, seems like I mostly be using it for kneeling exercises then and for P57 of course. Thanks!

Where did you buy your XL pad from? I can't find it on Amazon. Thanks!

I didn't know they had it in XL. I have the regular sized pad but I like this one too. I think you'll like the extra length. You be able to use it for a lot more positions. Keep your order since you have the room for it.
