Cat/Cow

Hi!
I've noticed that different instructors have different ways of breathing during cat/cow. Jessica Smith has you inhale on the cat part and exhale on the cow part. Cathe is the opposite.

Which way is the best?
Thanks,
Joanne

I do not think there is a best way. I think whatever way feels the most natural/comfortable to you is fine.

There was a thread a while back with the same question -

http://forum.videofitness.com/showth...&highlight=Cat

I exhale going into Cat and inhale transitioning to Cow. It feels better to me to exhale when contracting my core in Cat (like when I’m exhale when doing crunches). But do whatever feels the best for you!

I have tried both but I feel more natural doing it the way sillygirl does.

THANKS! I agree with the both of you on that. I just block out the instructor's voice and do my own thing.

Sometimes trying to follow the instructor's breathing makes me tense, which undoes the benefit of the yoga

I appreciate the reminders but you're right... sometimes I'm like wait I'm needing an in here and oh ugh we've changed positions
