I'm so glad others loved Ordinary Grace. I recommended it to my sister but she passed. My book club is meeting tomorrow night to discuss it.

I haven't read the entire thread so I'm not sure if this book has been mentioned before. This my first recommendation to the reading thread. I recently read 75% of a great book, Grace, by Natashia Deon. I didn't finish it because I borrowed it from my library on my Kindle and due to life getting in the way it expired before I had a chance to. Don't you hate when that happens? I reordered it and am on a waiting list...sigh.
Its the authors debut novel. Here's part of the book description from the publisher: Grace is a sweeping, intergenerational saga featuring a group of outcast women during one of the most compelling eras in American history. It is a universal story of freedom, love, and motherhood, told in a dazzling and original voice set against a rich and transporting historical backdrop.

I put Ordinary Grace on hold for myself at the library.
I also just downloaded (from Overdrive) Insurgent, in spite of what I said up thread about Divergent, I feel I need to know what happens next and these are fast/easy reads for me. Donna |
