Strength training in spurts?

I work at a very boring job. I am alone all day and have nothing but time. I've got dumbbells here at work - will I get the same benefits if I periodically lift during the course of the day as opposed to my usual straight-through 45 min routine? Was thinking about trying this method a couple days a week. Does anyone see where this might not work as well?

Yes, you will.

I have done that before.

I have a little routine where I do all upper body, then lower body...three sets. It feels great. I have done that when I have been unable to fit in a structured dvd workout at home.

I was being evaluated by a PT last week. He said my muscle tone is very good for a patient with MS. He also said I had a high step count too. Thank you Fitbit for pushing me.

My workouts come from doing anywhere from 5-10 min workouts through out the day to when I feel good up to 30 min. Since Feb. Its mostly been very short workouts. Much comes from marching in place, indoor walking workouts, some weights, resistance bands. It all helps out.
