WHEW! It burns so good!
I did not do the whole workout, and I modified a lot.
I didn't use weights for any of the lower body segments, and I never went above 3 pound weights for upper body!
(I had to drop down to 2s and 1s for some of the "burnouts.")
If you don't like high reps, you probably won't like this. I enjoyed the format, but the body part segments are long. For example, the sumo squat segment was
6 minutes long, IIRC...but you do regular sumo squats for a minute, then pulsing for a minute, then a 1-minute hold, then a step forward for a minute, etc. So it was constantly changing up but the whole time KILLING my legs.
CONS:
why, oh why, isn't this chaptered!?
This dvd would be near perfect for me if it were even just chaptered by body part (I think there are shoulders, lunges, triceps, sumo squats, biceps, regular squats, something I skipped, maybe something else I skipped -- I think back? and deadlifts?)...
Anyway, I wish I could work to my own personal exhaustion, then skip to the next body part (building over time). No option to do that -- no chapters. Premixes would also be nice -- a lower body premix, upper body premix. That'd be helpful since she alternates between upper and lower body moves.
PRO or CON: She talks a lot between body part sets. I liked this because I (really!) needed that time to STRETCH while she gave the run-down for the upcoming segment. But I know some won't like the talking.
Don't know if there's a cool down (I stopped about 2/3 through)...but there is no warm-up.
I liked it! I liked her attitude -- very encouraging and loud (not loud like Jillian, whom I do not enjoy), and FUN!
