ebay buyer "compliment"

hi,

i haven't sold on Ebay in a long time, but decided to post some dvds since i was going through my collection. i thought someone might want them during this lockdown.

I posted a Turbo Kick dvd that i bought from Powder blue.
I posted for a reasonable price. i think i paid $50 for the set.

The buyer says it's defective (i checked before listing).
She's already posted negative feedback. oh well.
i had to share her comments to me:

"I have video of this not working and will be filing a compliment directly with eBay. "

Isn't that nice? she's filing a compliment. At least that made me chuckle.

time to be done with Ebay selling.

It takes a special kind of person to “compliment” you when they are unhappy. Perhaps her money would have been better spent on a dictionary.

the other funny thing is that she also commented that she tried it in her neighbor's dvd player. Haven't we been in a stay in place order? just funny. i can tell i'm dealing with a character here.

lesson learned for me. Ebay was scary territory before...now it's going to be worse.

No doubt. Then she could also look up 'scamming ignoramus', 'social pariah' and 'pandemic' without ever leaving her home

I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience! If it helps, you can still sell on VF Roost on FB and VF Roost on Tapatalk. I have only ever bought items from eBay and haven't had any real problems yet. But I know I would probably stop after just one bad experience tbh so I don't blame you.

You know she's got to be lying, because she went straight to the "I'm filing a complaint" route. I would demand my dvds back.

So they gave straight to a formal complaint without giving you any chance to respond? Tiresome.

I bought something on ebay just as all this social distancing and border closing got started and the item may or may not ever arrive now, but the way I see it, those issues are out of the sellers' control.

julie that really sucks. i hope she returns it in the condition you sent it to her. I've heard of horror stories where people damage the item and send it back for a full refund.

i want to give you a real compliment: you are one of the most generous people i know - always offering SASEs - and for this to happen to you is pretty unjust.

Thank you all for letting me share. You are all so kind. This group has been a wonderful source of inspiration and information. I’ve sold on Ebay quite a long time. This is my first bad experience as a seller. I hope she doesn’t damage the dvd either.
Thank you Jeannine - you are so kind!
