I think you could have a lot of fun with this. Maybe $1 for a regular work-out and a bonus when you do those work-outs that may fill you with dread but you know you need to do them (the castor oil/taking your medicine sorts of things ). I also like the bonus for going out for a walk in really cold temps (or in the rain) as I'm a serious cold weather wimp.

I've been really into hula-hooping for the past few months now, so I think I'm going to give myself $1 for each traditional workout, and my bonus will be $1 for learning a new hoop trick I can use the money to buy new hoops, lol!!

I was just thinking of this challenge this morning. Thanks for posting again this year VVFer.

I tried it with quarters one year but kept forgetting to put them in my pretty glass vase even though I had plenty. And I wasn't recording workouts at that time. Very discouraging to lose track of where you are.

I'm having no trouble getting to the three-day-a-week functional fitness class I started attending in late August. I think the only one I've missed was last Monday when I was sick in bed. Love the class and know a lot of people in it.

But I'm not doing a very good job of doing any other workouts. So I'll do a dollar for every workout day that is not a class day. 7-minute Lee Holdens don't count on their own but 23-minute Classical Stretches do. And one dollar for every cardio workout I do in addition on a class day. I now record my workouts in my Bullet-ish journal in an effort to prompt more of them so they'll be easier to keep track of. And I'll only buy fitness stuff other than the class out of that money. I don't need much now days but do still impulse buy DVDs too often.

Karen Jo's mention of doing it with quarters got me thinking. I have a big jar and colored rocks and marbles that I have been meaning (for over a year) to use for my add 'em up challenge goals but never have. Maybe this would work for this challenge. When I tried just writing $1 on a calendar it wasn't visual enough so it didn't help, as far as I remember. I think I'll try the jar and rocks. Hopefully hubby will be willing to do the payoff since I don't have a job!

I wrote a reminder on my Feb planner to pay myself for January.

I want a new iphone or maybe a bigger tv for my workout room. I have a 19 inch tv right now. I would love to have a 50 inch tv as a workout companion.

Hi there!

How did everyone do? I earned $614 in 2020. Counted every workout that was at least 10 minutes (except I counted each Lee Holden Qi Gong 30 Day challenge session as 1 workout) . I started working from home in March so I did lots of short workouts through out the day.

I worked out a total of 278 days in 2020.

Not really interested in a tv anymore so not sure what I will spend this on.

This was a super fun idea and I paid myself somewhat quarterly....ok it was based on sales announcements

I counted workout days and loved it. I didn't end up giving myself bonuses this time.

I plan on doing this again and may fold in bonuses this time. I may also wait longer to get bigger ticket items...

Not sure if I can wait though, haha.

Maybe just write out IOU's and once a week or so, or whenever you find yourself with some bills of whatever size, trade them out. I'd probably end up borrowing from the jar

$308 for 2020! (I just counted the workout days, not the number of workouts.)

This is a great idea that I meant to start last year and just didn't. So I'm gonna do it this year, counting the day rather than the workout like VVFer since I sometimes double up.

I have ones since DH and I just won our football pool (don't get excited, it was a whopping $40!) but there were a lot of ones. I also have a bunch of 50 cent pieces (don't ask) that I can use.

Off to get started!!

Oh, and VVFer and T2B, great results for you for 2020! FOLV, what was your total? Do tell!
