Karen, I'm glad you're OK! How frightening! But lucky that your husband was with you and knew what was going on. Take care!

I'm glad your husband was with you, Karen! Thank you for sharing your story, alerting us to symptoms and what to do about them, and reminding us that we need to be there for each other.
Take care!

Karen, so glad your OK. Thanks for sharing your story and yes it can happen to anyone.

I have a friend who had a stroke in her 40s and is in her 60s now and it was a significant one but she is OK now. Still has some problems with memory.

So sorry, Karen. Glad you have recovered well. Especially thanks for the information. It doesn't always happen to others....could be us. Can never take our health for granted. Best wishes for continued good health!

Continued good health to you.

I hope you're feeling better soon, Karen!

My mom had a mini-stroke a few years ago while she was driving! My dad was with her and he managed to get the car stopped and pulled over. Anyway--I ended up driving them to the hospital because they just happened to be very close to my house when it happened (oh, and I was doing my workout when they came by so I was dressed in workout clothes all day at the hospital ). My mom is 90 now and I can't say with certainty, because my mom tends to keep serious matters to herself, but I don't believe she has had any more mini-strokes since then. Or--she is still with us, so if she has had any, she is still functioning normally (for a 90-year-old!).

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Donna

I am glad you are OK! And a great reminder to not ignore your body's signs that something is wrong.

Taking care of yourself doesn't prevent all bad things from happening to you. However, I think it can help with your outcome from those things.

So glad you're okay Karen. My mother-in-law has had several mini strokes (now 96) over the last several years, and I worry for my husband. His grandfather on her side died from a massive stroke so I wonder if it could be hereditary. Your story is a good reminder that it can happen to anyone - I need to be careful with myself as well.
