October 2019 Add 'em up Goals Challenge ~All welcome!

Come join us in setting and achieving goals to promote your overall wellness! We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to chat when we have time, but please also feel free to join us if you want to just focus on your goals. No pressure here to address everyone; share as little or as much as you want!

We have been doing this challenge for several years now. While it is not strictly about fitness goals, we agree that our daily life goals work together with our fitness goals to make us happier and more balanced, so we combine them in this challenge. Feel free to join us! You can tailor it to your schedule if you need to take a week off for vacation or only count so many days. Whatever works for you!

Premise: Choose your goals for the month. Every time you complete a goal you get a point. Multiply your number of daily goals by the number of days in the month. This is your max total points. If you choose, reward yourself for reaching a certain percentage of your max possible (I use 90% for my personal goal), multiply by your max to get your total goal points. I also give myself extra credit options.

Vannie's October Goals

My favorite month!

I still really need to work on getting enough sleep, eating more healthy foods and better time management

EFFECTIVE 10/15 all times move to half hour later except junk food cutoff

Goals:
1. Get up by 6:30 on weekdays
2. Bedtime at 10:30 every night (this is dependent on the Twins post-season run!)
3. No internet/YouTube/Pinterest after 9:30 PM (I think this goal seems even harder than going to bed on time!)
4. No junk food after 9:30 PM
5. Overhead lights and TV off at 10:00 PM (TV again dependent on post-season)
6. Train Cyric at least 5 days/week
7. 4 miles daily with Cyric (walking or running)
8. Socialize Cyric at least 3 days/week
9. Housework for at least 20 minutes every weekday

10. Run 2 days a week
11. Strength training 3 days/week
12. PT/glute activation 2 days/week
13. Foam roller or ball massage 2 days/week
14. Stretch daily

15. Daily meditation and gratitude
16. Daily ODB and prayer journal

Extra credit:
1. 7 hours of sleep (10 pts)
2. 20000 steps
3. New workout done
4. Running with Cyric

Max possible points: (avg pts/day)
Points goal (90%): (avg pts/day)
Reward: personal satisfaction!

Oct 1-6 pts (out of avg ) ~ % WEEK OFF
Oct 7-13 pts (out of avg ) ~ %
Oct 14-20 pts (out of avg ) ~ %
Oct 21-27 pts (out of avg ) ~ %
Oct 28-31 pts (out of avg ) ~ %

total for the month: / ~ %

Wed 10/16---7 minutes obedience training-- this is the first training session without Chianna and I missed her so much, it was hard for me. She loved these sessions, probably mostly for the treats, but she was so focused on me and doing what I said. She was so eager. At the end of sessions I usually toss treats for them to catch and they were both so cute waiting, watching and trying to catch. She didn't get up much for them in the past few months, just tried to catch them while sitting. So sweet. Cyric leaps for them. Thankfully he is also very eager and trips over himself trying to figure out what I want. He knows the commands but he gets so excited to train that he just tries to almost guess what I'll say. I wish I had been more diligent about doing this, for both their sakes. So the lesson is, don't beat myself up, try to move forward and make things better for Cyric.

Thu 10/24--8 minutes obedience training--He cracks me up, sooo excited! I finally remembered to work on the look command. Definitely rusty. Why do I put off smthg that's so good for him and takes less than 10 minutes at a time??

Mon 10/28--9 minutes obedience training--worked on place-stay while I opened the front door and pretended to greet someone as well as the look command (plus the usual stuff)

You're welcome! I always play around with mine too. And when I change them it's good to have them posted so I can remember what's coming up!

We just mark our place a bit early, listing our goals. We don't start posting about October's workouts until October 1.

Sometimes I start my month early if the previous one was terrible.
