Ellen Barrett

Good Afternoon,

After doing a few of the sweat lab wo's and some cathe's the last 2 weeks I just wasn't in the mood to do anything to crazy this morning. I pulled out 1 of the 2 Ellen Barrett workout's that I own. I chose to do Power Fusion. I have only done it once before. I really loved this workout. I enjoyed every single minute of it. I felt so good afterwards. Really energized and ready to start my day. I loved how I felt this in my legs. A great leg burner. It did have some cardio effect for me but nothing that had me sweating a lot. My body just felt so warm and stretched out afterwards I'm so looking forward to doing the only other Ellen Barrett wo I have which is Fusion Floor workout.
So like I said the only workouts that I own of her's are Power Fusion and Fusion floor workout. I was looking at Low Impact Cardio Strength. I previewed a clip on youtube and something she said really stuck to me. She said something to the effect of sometimes high intensity workouts cause stress in our bodies that has an effect on us or something like that.
I wanted some other opinions of which other one's I should get?
Thanks

I really like Power Fusion too, it's my favorite of Ellen's. Fusion Floor is nice too. I also like:
Fusion Flow - nice & flowy with standing ab & balance work
Fat Burning Fusion - also nice and flowy

I have almost all of hers. they are all great. I have all of her crunch ones, self, etc.

it really has to do with her personality and her philosophy about working out and how she designs her workouts.

I tend to pull out these the most:
fat burning fusion
*skinny sculpt
*slim sculpt
crunch fat burning pilates
*crunch burn and firm

*these incorporate light weights but you can go unweighted and still get a great workout

I may be the outlier here, but my favorite Ellen Barrett workout is Self: Bikini Ready Fast.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. Does anybody have the Low Impact Cardio Strength dvd. It came out in 2012.

Breezy T, you do not lift alone. Bikini Ready Fast is my most used Ellen workout; I do the upper body section at least once a week.

I also like Skinny Sculpt and Stretch Sculpt, which is the one that I think no one else likes.

yes I do.

it's not like her studio workouts. LICS was part of a series of workouts based on blood type (a marketing ploy). Ellen was one of the dozen or so instructors who led one of the workouts. it kinda reminded me of The Firm more than Ellen's workouts from her "The Studio" series like the 2 you own, Power Fusion or Fusion Floor.

in LICS, Ellen's manner is the same as her Studio workouts, but not the design of the workout.

there's some VF reviews here for Low Impact Cardio Strength.

if you want more like the 2 you own, stick to her Studio series (they are all very similar, but it's OK to own them all!) or her Crunch workouts, if you want that "stretched out and energized" feeling.
