Total Max Mixers - Week of November 17

Good morning everyone. I didn't work out yesterday. DH and I just took a long walk in town. It was really cold and we had a 14-mile/hour wind so my ears were frozen by the end of the walk.

Vannie - Happy belated birthday. Do you ever watch Great British Baking show? DH and I love it, even though we would never make anything they show.

Cher - Bummer that you have to wait so long to get the biopsies.

Karjoy - I hope the marathon went well.

Gibbee - How are you doing?

Another cold day here today--mid 40s will be our high. I hope everyone stays warm.

Thanks, JBliff! No, I haven't heard of that show. What network is it on? I used to watch Food Network more years ago and just started again this week while I was couch bound. It's kind of dangerous for me bc I think about food too much anyway! Last night after supper I said I'm still hungry. I ate the last brownie and said I'm still hungry. Argh!

HI!

JB: Thanks for starting us off! We are doing ok here. Never heard of that show.

Vannie: Happy belated birthday!

Cher: How is Joseph doing? Your MIL?

Karen: Loved your FB pic from your run.

Check in: I have missed you guys.

Briefly on the home front... We have been swamped. DH had another eye surgery (more or less) on Tuesday. They put a steroid insert (?) (not a shot like usual - an actual object) in his eye to try to continue to reverse the glaucoma. He was really upset because it caused him to basically be blind in the eye (on top of the worsening vision in both eyes). This weekend he is starting to see a few details... like when I hold up two fingers at the end of the bed. Before he could barely make out blobs and had to lie in bed for 3 days listening to the TV, which was really depressing for him. We asked for a cornea specialist since he is also having issues with those in both eyes... we see one in January. Sheesh. However he started doing his own rinses with an eye cup we have and it has been soothing them more than anything they have given him to date.

The neuro has decided in IVIG brand but has yet to place infusion orders. We don't know if he is going to be inpatient at the Univ. or if it will be local infusion lab, but we are insisting on a supervised infusion - at least during the first several. We had already asked the local neuro to consider taking him back since it is the same treatment as before and we couldn't get the Univ. doc to move off dead center. Still pursuing both options until we have a plan and some forward motion.

Work has been hectic (busy season once again) and we have had the usual homeowner frustrations (broken garage door spring during the ice/snow - thank goodness the last replacement was still covered by warranty), car owner frustrations (DD's tire pressure system keeps registering errors... just went up to Columbia today to drop it off for the 5th time... SO not happy... and my battery died in my Honda last weekend - one month left on the warranty THANK GOODNESS!!! I got a free replacement battery!), you name it, it's been happening. Hoping things let up.

Workout check-in:As far as workouts I have been slacking. I signed up for Lauren Brooks' free 7 day swing challenge last week and completed it today. Thank goodness I had that to do and a couple of Leslie walks (5 - 15 minutes) or I would have been a blob of laziness. It was pretty good and she is offering it again free for this week, kicking off tomorrow. I'll post the workouts here in case you want them for warm-ups, finishers or just short workouts.

ETA: Today I did KCM's RAW Box & Pump 1 with Day 7 of the swing challenge.

KCM has added the main workout footage from all of her DVD's except the most recent pair to RAW and is keeping the price at $6.99 per month!

My workout yesterday was RwH Back, Shoulders & Biceps with abs instead of finishers + Rodney Yee Power Yoga for Your Week AM Connection.

Gibbee
- You poor thing. You and your DH are dealing with a lot. Healthcare is such a mine field. Thanks for the swing workout. I've copied it for future reference.

Vannie - The Great British Baking Show is on PBS. Each season starts with 12 of the best bakers in Britain and each week one gets eliminated until the finale when the remaining three compete for the win. We like it because there's a lot of drama and interesting items to bake, some of which we've never heard of. Some of the contestants are quite interesting too. I believe the latest seasons are on Netflix and it's now called the Great British Bake Off or something like that.

Hi to Cher and Karjoy. Have a great day, everyone.

Haven’t done a workout since Saturday. I went for our yearly girls trip up north with my mom, my sister and my aunt. Just got home and unpacked a little while ago. DH has a early doctor’s appointment in the morning so not sure if I will get in a workout tomorrow either. I’m thinking I may do a recovery week this week than back to XTrain next week. I’m not sure.

JBliff - DH and I also love the Great British Baking show! We just finished the most recent season and I’m bummed out that it’s over now. However, we do have the 2 Holiday episodes to watch still.

Vannie - Yes, there are a lot of season’s of The Great British Baking show on Netflix Which is where we have watched the last couple seasons. I think they also have some of the seasons on pbs.com

Gibbee - OMG! You have definitely been having to much going on. I can’t imagine what both of you are going through with all this eye stuff with DH. That has to be one of the worst things not being able to see.

Hi guys. Glad to see everyone checking in.

I’m resting for a few days after the marathon ruck. We had a blast! We had to find waypoints on our route and send a pic of the 4 of us at the waypoint before moving on. This was in Jacksonville, Fl. Took us about 8.5 hours with breaks and finding waypoints. The weather was kinda miserable. 53 degrees with 48 degree
feel all day and cloudy with occasional sprinkles so pretty cold feeling. Jax is flat
but we did have to go over 2 big bridges which was cold and windy.

Jbliff sorry you had a cold walk with 14 mph winds. I love the GBBS too! It’s a hoot. Love the personalities and watching them under stress.

Vannie I think you would really enjoy the Great British Baking show. You really get attached to the bakers and the hosts. I’m like Jbliff—I don’t think I would ever
bake some of that complicated stuff. I’d rather watch!

Gosh Gibbee sorry you and DH have had to deal with so much. It sounds like Darrell’s vision is slowly getting better. Fingers crossed! I’m glad your battery was covered by warranty. Whew. Thanks for posting the swing challenge.

Cher good time to take a week off.

Night all, kareng

Hi all. My workout yesterday was Fit Split Boxing & Legs workout.

Karjoy
- I'm glad you had fun even though the weather wasn't great. It sounds like you definitely need a couple of days off after that.

Hi to everyone else. Have a great day.

Workout yesterday was Leslie’s Walk 15 Mile 5.....Miles 1, 3, & 5.

I’m thinking I’m going to call it quits with my XTrain rotation after 4 weeks. I just have to much to going on right now. DH is on vacation from work next week and I have to get all my Christmas decorations up starting this weekend, (which takes days since I have WAY to much); then, of course, Thanksgiving next week. It is just to busy of a time for me to stress myself out doing a specific rotation. I’ll still keep up the workouts but not going to stress myself out over it.

Karen - Glad you enjoyed the marathon ruck despite the weather. It sounds kind of fun.

Vannie - I would never make any of the stuff they make on Great British Baking show. Way to complicated for me! Lol. But, it’s fun to watch!

Waves to everyone!
