Sherry, I totally agree about the reduced storage in side by side. Also, sorry to hear about those stains...that's so strange. ...please update if barkeeper's works to remove.

I think someone mentioned also using the cleaner that leaves a shine to protect them? I would personally look for something like that to apply after removing the stains.

i often wondered why "stainless steel" products would "rust" and after reading this thread and searching online, they do rust.

i shied away from stainless steel appliances due to the fingerprint problems. i'd notice it on the store display. for a time, black surface appliances were available, but you could also see the fingerprints pretty easily.
