How to send dvds

I need to send a dvd, but want to avoid the post office. Long Island is a hot bed for the corona virus right now. Do you just put the postage on and put it in your mailbox? Thanks

Yes you can do that; I believe that you can also print out postage from PayPal.

I know Beth already answered but yes, I almost always just put the package out in my mailbox as long as it fits.

I print my postage out via paypal since I have a paypal account and it's a bit cheaper this way and you get free tracking I think (even on media mail, which it claims it will charge extra for tracking but never does in the end).

This is the paypal link I use to print my USPS tracking labels:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...de_optout=true

(Though I've also put stuff out in my mailbox covered in regular stamps too. The mail person always picks it up.)

If I'm mailing just a greeting card or letter though I have to be sure to put it leaning up against the left inside wall of the mailbox, NOT leaning against the right side. I guess the way the mail truck pulls up to the mailbox and the side of the street I'm on, the mail person doesn't "see" the envelope if it's leaning on the left side and it often gets overlooked and left in the box.

In addtion to your mailbox at home, you can drop the prepaid printed label packages in the blue drop off boxes as long as it is 13oz or less the last time I checked. The blue boxes around here are usable without contact.

I've been wondering the same thing. I have pictures to send to a cousin and crocheted face scrubbies to send to an aunt. I wasn't even sure if the PO was open. But I don't use PayPal so not sure what my options are.

I haven't done it, but you can click and ship from the usps website.

You can also put the envelope/package with actual paper money and instructions with how you want it mailed. Your carrier will take it to the PO and return the change and receipt the next day.

And, yes, on the left side of the box works better since the vehicle approaches for the right. I used to deliver mail and always appreciated that and mailed stuff for people this way several times too.
