From MN to TX.....the scenic route

So I rarely trade anymore....just due to streaming and a narrowing of my interests in workouts. I'm trying to clean out my dvds.

However...Sherry....Superfit41....posted a list and it was a match made in heaven. We traded a box of dvds and each of us mailed out our packages Priority on the 13th.

My package must have been possessed with a desire to see the world. All these years of trading and gifting I've had no drama. This package ended up at the Chicago International Distribution Center and went to a military base in Germany! It sat there for a few days too....someone must have finally realized it was in the wrong place, big time.

I'm relieved that Sherry received her dvds today and they were all ok! LOL. I've never had such a strange trading experience!

Wow, that is bizarre! I am so glad Sherry's package arrived safely.

The USPS is very weird. I ordered from Cathe. I live in NJ, one hour from Glassboro. They sent the package to Kansas! I eventually received it.

I mailed a package from NJ that was going to NY. It was sent out to Pittsburgh, and then routed to a sorting facility nearby. That sorting facility happened to have a mercury spill and was shut down for days. It took almost three weeks for that package to arrive one state away!

I recently sent my son in Philadelphia a package. It ended up in the Chicago International Distribution Center. They recognized the error and sent it back to the NH distribution center and they sent it to a Military PO Box in Philadelphia! Luckily I was tracking it, got our postmistress involved and she was finally able to reroute it and get it delivered.

I once had a trade go to an Afghanistan military base. They sent it back intact. I couldn’t believe it.

Jackie,
I wondered if the package was going to be a bit worse for wear when it showed up but it was in good shape when it arrived. This was definitely a strange trade experience, but thankfully it ended well

I wonder if this is the same facility that my packaged stopped at. I mailed a dvd to someone and it sat....forever. Luckily she called the post office and found out about the spill. Another time I mailed a purse that traveled throughout the northeast, zigzagging ALL OVER for about a month before making it's way to Pennsylvania. I could've driven it there faster.

LOL! Compared to your travels, mine wasn't so bad. I recently tracked a package that originated somewhere in the midwest. It would have made sense to send it west towards my direction, instead it went all the way to New Jersey. Then it came back and was in my city, but then they sent it out of state. I miraculously got it the next day.

I ordered from Thriftbooks for the first time (after VFers raved about it!). The books were shipped from a suburb just 35 minutes from me. But first they went to a USPS facility in York, PA (over an hour from me), then onto Harrisburg, PA (even further), and now back down to a USPS center in the exact same suburb from which the books were originally shipped. I hope to receive them tomorrow. Like others have suggested, I could've stopped and picked them up on my way home from work.
