burpee and plank mods?

Hi,

I am playing around with Tapout XT. There is a lot of plank and burpee-like movements, and I think my wrists aren't strong enough. Is that possible? I did sprain one wrist last year.

I am tempted to use my aerobic step, so that I don't have to lower completely to the ground.

Has anyone else had this issue with this type of movement? If so, how did you modify?

Thanks.

I did elevated planks and burpees when I did Tapout XT1/XT2 rotation last year. I just used my rebounder as I did not want to use my step (step is in my workout closet).
Sometimes, I used Tiger Paws or another fitness gadget (stick-e link). I held the Stick-e's all the time during burpees.
My arms looked more defined after that rotation. I don't know why I have not touched a Tapout XT workout in a long time. Too many workouts, too little time.

I primarily use the WAGS Pro gloves which are pricey but they have been worth it to me.

I have also used the step, the rebounder, and my doorway chin up bar that can be used as a pushup/situp bar on the floor. I think this one is mine.

I use my step a lot for burpees. I put a yoga mat over it so the ridges don't hurt my hands.

Using the step, a bench or other surface is the best way to modify. It is totally fine. If it starts to feel too easy, you can work your way down to lower levels and eventually the floor.

You can also step out and squat instead of getting on the ground, or step back instead of jumping back, move at half the pace, etc. There's loads of ways to modify burpees to make them easier. I would suggest looking at YouTube for some ideas.

Plank moves: do on forearms/knees. Do a straight plank when they are doing a dynamic plank move, etc.

I enjoy the Tapout workouts, but never seem to do them, either. Not sure why that is...

do you have a chair or firm transfirmer. You can hold on to the top for planks and burpee work.. LOVE.
