OT: Ninja foodi-air fryer/grill

I am debating buying this model. Our Cuisinart indoor grill (probably ten years old) will likely die soon, and I'm curious about an air fryer. I want to use it for healthy recipes, like the ones from Gina's Skinnytaste blog and cookbook. I'm sure my son will use it for the processed foods, though -sigh

I don't ever cook steak. I would use the grill for chicken, turkey cutlets and fish, and vegetables.

Does anyone have this one or something similar:

I should have a good amount of Amazon Visa reward points coming so I may
order it from there. I'm also thinking of just getting the more basic model since it is less expensive and smaller, since there are just two of us. I am also thinking of this one because the reviews seem better. There seem to be issues with the touch screen on the larger one.

I like that I can cook from frozen since my planning skills aren't great these days.

Thank you!
Sherry

We have the 4-1 Ninja Foodi from Walmart. It cost $169.

We love ours and have used it almost every day since we got it. I wanted it to cook meat, but we use it for vegetables just as much. DH even made meatloaf in it.

I don't have that brand but I really enjoy the air fryer for fish and veggies!

Mine is on the smaller side so the only drawback to that is having to cook in batches but since it doesn't take long it's not a big deal for me to wait until my batch is ready while everyone is settling in.

Thank you both!

Has anyone used the grill to make
quesadillas? I usually use a cast iron pan, so I don't know if the grill can match that flavor.

It's awfully hard to replicate that kind of flavor.
I will probably stick with preparing quesadillas on the stove with my cast iron griddle.

That is what I thought.

We have the one in your second link. We bought it before the bigger one was made. We love it. I cook with it a lot. I seem to use the grill part more often than the air fryer but have used it.

If I were to do it again, I would get the bigger model, even thought it is just the two of us. There are times I want to do veggies and meat on the grill but can't because it is too small so I have to cook in batches.

It has been a great investment unlike the instant pot, which I don't like and feel like it is a waste of money.

Thanks, Rhonda! I would like to grill vegetables as well as chicken or salmon at the same time.
I have to measure my space and make sure I have the counter space.

I actually use my Instant Pot frequently.

Sherry, I have the Ninja from the second link you posted (with Grill, Air Fryer, and bake setting.)

I can't tell you how many things I burn in that thing, ha! I've gotten good with grilling, but Air Fry is tricky, as is the bake.

I've tried cornbread and cakes in a small round 8 or 9 inch pan. The middle is always doughy. I was successful with brownies. ;-)

Air Fry you really have to watch closely. My french fries always get burned around the edges, while tater tots are okay!

I do like the Grill for frozen chicken breasts, but hamburger patties really shrink up!

My DH says I should pitch my Ninja in the garbage.

I'm also always setting off the smoke alarms!
