cyana this is Balmoral Beach which is a harbour bay beach near us . It's about 4km from us (about 3 miles) and where we will go for a quick swim . Gives you a picture of the ash around us, even though we are not near the fires.

ash at Balmoral Beach

Beth you must be looking forward to your break!

Linda sorry to hear that your legs feel pain still. Squats are not good for me either at this time.

Gayle I hope your dh recovers well from the cataract surgery.

Oh Anny! That is so sad! Fires are scary. Thanks for posting that link!

Wow Beth! You have a nice long break to look forward to!

Garrie, I hope you are doing okay with your new job!

I did Jessica's Boost Metabolism dvd. I did both the upper body circuit walk and the lower body circuit walk. Next time I will just do one, then add on a walk. It had been ages since I had done those workouts. They were more intense than I remembered. By the time I had finished the lower body workout I was losing focus!

Gayle, I might have given the wrong impression--I have Mondays off but am still working the other days. Except for Monday, I am working all of next week. I'm off most of the Christmas and New Year's weeks but am working all of the days in January except the Mondays.

Anny wow that ash is scary. I am definitely looking forward to the break!

Hi all!

No workout Monday as it is my planned day off. For

Today's Workout: I enjoyed a 2-mile outdoor walk, then did Classical Stretch episode 1227.

Anny: That's a sad photo.

Linda: Looking forward to hearing about your mysterious new fitness toy!

Gayle: I like Jessica's Barefoot Fusion Sculpt. On Jessica's "total body" workouts I usually follow Debbie, who often modifies the lower body moves to be easier on the knees (or sometimes leaves them out altogether). Doing that makes Jessica's total body stuff more like an upper body workout (which is how I am classifying Barefoot Fusion Sculpt), which is what I want since I tend to prefer floor work for my lower body.

Waving to all!

I did 3 miles with Leslie, Walking off the Pounds. I just couldn't decide what to do so I grabbed that one.

Beth, I think you wrote your fun days off perfectly, I just read it wrong! Mondays off are heaven!

Sandra, I might give that one a try tomorrow!

Gayle, as much as I'd love the whole time off I'll take the Mondays--I agree that it's the best day to have off!!!

Sandra, glad you got to walk outside.

Happy Hump Day!!!

Hi!

Today's Workout: The Upper Body section from Fitness Fix Sports Conditioning. Haven't done this one in a while so I'm sure I'll be feeling it later! Earlier today I also managed a 1-mile outdoor walk (glad I did, as the rain just started up again).

Waving to all!

Beth - Tuesday is your new Monday.

Sandra - rain again? I had snow mixed with ice this morning aka crunchy snow.

My new toy was misplaced by UPS but it arrived this afternoon. It's a Concept 2 rowing machine. I had one many years ago but it was hard on my back and hip. My hip is replaced and my back magically got better so maybe I can use this again. If it doesn't snow and nothing else happens, my honey will be here for two nights this weekend. He was just here last weekend! He usually doesn't make the trip this often. We will not be going out to eat this time.

Hi all! No, I haven't forgotten about y'all. I've had a lot going on the past few days. Slowly but surely the bookstore is getting ready for Spring rush.

Here was last week for me:

Sunday:
Karen Voight's Streamline Fitness (ALL)

Monday:
TAUGHT Ai Chi and Step classes

Tuesday:
TAUGHT HiiT and Pump classes

Wednesday:
Molly Fox's Yoga Sculpts

Thursday:
TAUGHT Zumba class

Friday:
No workout

Saturday:
CO-TAUGHT Fusion class (mix of dance, kickboxing, light weights, and yoga)

This week I started Mesocycle 2 (Hypertrophy) of Cathe's STS.

Sunday:
STS Disc 13 (Chest, Shoulders & Triceps)

Monday:
STS Disc 14 (Legs--Holy Trisets, my legs are still sore today!)
Added 3 sets of barbell hip thrusts (12, 10, 8 reps)
TAUGHT Step class (using just the platform)

Tuesday:
TAUGHT Pump class (mostly coached and used very light weights)

Wednesday:
STS Disc 15 (Back & Biceps--or Back, Biceps & Forearms as it should be )

Meso 2 is a completely different animal. First off, I don't feel rushed as with Meso 1. You get 1 minute rest between each set and exercise. That doesn't make it any easier, however! (Weights used this month are 70 to 80% of 1 Rep Max) You also work one body part completely before moving onto the next one. And I got to play with the Fit Tower using the barbell clips for bench presses. They are very sturdy.

I'll be back in a few minutes with personals.

Sandra: Thanks for starting us off! Saturdays are usually my rest days. It rained quite a bit the past two days here in southwest Virginia. Then it snowed a little last night.

Cyana: PHA 2 is my favorite of Cathe's LITE workouts. Be sure to check the premixes out. I pre-ordered her new ones since I step and PHA workouts. Hopefully they'll be here before Christmas.

Beth: Tuesday is my Monday (at the bookstore). We get a winter break starting (the 23rd) through January 1. Then we start our Spring rush the 2nd.

Anny: That is a scary photo!

Linda: Enjoy your new rowing machine! Hope you continue to feel better.

Gayle: Hope DH has a quick recovery from the surgery!
