I changed my name to behaha when I got a job and was afraid my students would search for me, and find me, and know all that I think about whether lifting weights can make you smaller or only bigger, and so on. And whether or not I had pre-ordered Cathe, or done a step workout that morning, etc., etc.
When I first joined a lot of us used our real names, even full names sometimes. I don't think I went that far -- it was probably a holdover from even earlier days.
Isn't there a VF member with the signature line "on the internet, no one knows you're a dog?" And isn't that quoted from a New Yorker cartoon?
