Oh good grief, it's not that bad I don't think After all this chat, I'm going to do it this morning. Not the upper body, just the lower body and abs, now that I know there's an ab workout.

I actually don't mind Karen's outfit. It's flowery or something, right? Kind of pretty (although Karen could probably look good in anything ). It's the guys' outfits that made me cringe. But I'm procrastinating

Oh well. Best laid plans. I just finished the warmup when my contractor showed up. I just CANNOT exercise with someone else in the house. Nice day for a walk, though.

Oh, and Karen's oufit was "normal". The background women were wearing floral, and I could hardly hear the whooping over my rattling dehumidifier.

I usually only do one or two sections at a time, but every once in a while (maybe once or twice a year) I go all out and do all 80 minutes, and it's invigorating!!! I never felt better and the feat is quite an accomplishment.

This is one of my oldie, but goodie favorites. I started with the VHS years ago, but have replaced it with a DVD.

I do it all at once and use 2.5 lb ankle weights. I used to use 5 lb ankle weights, but at some point I realized that 2.5 on each ankle is just as effective and allows better form.

I am a huge fan of Jillian's NMTZ and 30 Day Shred, and I think GWW is a forerunner of these type of workouts. I do think GWW is a tad easier than NMTZ and 30DS, but WAY longer, which makes it seem tougher to complete.

Great workout and one that has remained in my collection for years!

I used to just do the lower body after doing my own warmup. Once you can do GWW, you may be ready to graduate to Margaret Richard Karen moves very quickly, while Margaret's moved are slower and controlled because she is a stickler for proper form.

I agree with Mopsy that it isn't all THAT bad but I also agree with Alta in that doing it with 2.5 ankle weights (ala Jeanne Marie) is . After not doing this one for at least a year, I did the floorwork a few days ago. I didn't find it nearly as difficult as I did when I'd done it in the past but I've been doing more Cathe lower body workouts lately so that might be the reason. All you have to do is start without any weights and work your way up. Totally doable!
