Every day in MAY - do your revelling of the weather-change with US!

Welcome to the Every Day Checkin!

We are a small group who aim to do some form of physical activity every day, whatever that means for YOU (but don't kid yourself about it either)

Daily posts - not mandatory, nor even "sternly preferred" - but we love it if you do.
Weekly posts, drive-by notes, daily essays all about you.... any of those are perfectly fine - no pressure, EXCEPT to diligently try to add serious movement to your day - every day.

Lexicon:
WERD = Well Earned Rest Day, but even rest days can include movement
TERD = Totally Expected Rest Day, though not especially well-earned, like a planned happy event
TURD = Totally Unexpected Rest Day, hopefully also a happy event
HERD = of TURDS - usually declared after the THIRD TURD in a row. Try to avoid these at all costs, as they can move in & get comfortable, getting OUT of your comfort zone is the way to make change happen

The weather has finally caught up with the season - do YOU need to catch up ?...... with your goals? Join us for DAILY motivation!
NEWCOMERS ALWAYS WELCOME!

Friday 1-May
Travis - Ultimate Yogi - Detox, 72min

successfully staved off the usual 'It's Friday' sloth-mode.
Wasn't especially challenging, but definitely worthwhile.

HAPPY MAY!

Thank you

HELEN!!! for getting us started. And 72 minutes is 72 minutes. period.

I need my arrow, so I'm saying "good morning" (or sleep tight whichever the case may be). I haven't thought of exercise goals or even what I'm going to do today. Might be a WERD ... or not.

Will be back later.
Again Helen, thank you.

Helen - thank you for your usual colorful start to the month! 72 minutes is a long workout/yoga session and it counts!
Cleda - you have an amazing streak going! Keep it up!!!

5/1 - dog walk, 45 min Fun Rock Ride with Kendall?. It was tough and I was sweating like crazy! Jessica's rotation called for Yoga for Back Pain, but it was 45 minutes and I just wasn't feeling it. Instead I picked her 15 min. Stress Relief Stretch.

Let's go May!

Greetings all! I told Helen I'd be back in May, so here I am.

All's well here. We're still isolating. We go to town to Walmart for groceries every two weeks. I make a drive thru pharmacy when needed. TN is opening up, but we're staying home. My favorite quilt shop will be open next week, but I'm resisting.

Spring has sprung & the pollen is flying, that is when it's not raining. Pollen + weather systems = major headaches. Enough whining.

Today was major house cleaning in the morning. Double dog walks in the afternoon. Not much, but I'll make my step goal.

Welcome Back to Kay!

Kay: So good to see you back in the check in! We did miss you. And it is now May.

Lili:
Thank you. I intend on keeping it going (the streak) but I also must take some "down" days as well (yesterday was one of them!!!)

Waves to Helen & Pam! (and any lurkers)

Yesterday I was very tired and very cranky. I ended up going back to bed for a 3 hour nap. it felt great. Sun is out today. Hoping to get outside for a nice walk at the park. They just opened up the parks and if we're all good citizens and social distance and wear face coverings, they will leave them open!?!? Yep. That's what we were told.anyway ...... We'll see what happens. still on lock down.

5/1/2020: Walked a mile down the road for my mile every day challenge with my diet group. It counts. And I did a 30 minute meditation. Definitely too long for my liking. I need to stick to the 5-15 minute ones. Much more doable for me. I don't think meditation is good for someone if it makes them angry!

Ok, off to get busy for today.
Make it a great day.

Sat., 2-May
Les Mills - Body Combat 80
dog walks - but you knew that - would have been over a mile, easy - might play Cleda's "mile a day" game.

CLEDA
We must have been in synch - I had a cranky evening last night. Had been a super windy day all day - looked good from the inside, but being in amongst it was awful. As to social distancing - people here don't seem to know how far 1.5m is, very underestimated; and only supposed to be out alone or with one other - but groups of male 20-somethings playing basketball seen regularly.
Our parks never closed, just had tape across the seating.

I agree on the meditation - you need to work up to 30min, slowly.

Cleda - I don't think I'll ever do a 30 minute meditation! I can't stay focused for 10 minutes! And getting angry while meditating is definitely not the goal!.
Helen - Our parks have been open, but not the restrooms. Our playgrounds have been closed, but I just drove past one that had kids in it. ? As far as I know, they haven't opened anything in Delaware yet.
Kay - so good to see you again! Glad you are well and hunkering down.

5/2 - I decided to try a Les Mills today, Body Combat or a dance one. I kept getting error messages and when I didn't get error messages, my iPad wouldn't connect with the tv. After several failed attempts I gave up and did the next one on Jessica's rotation, Have a Ball. I enjoyed it.

I think most people are tired of sheltering in place and are venturing out more and more, which could just prolong this whole thing indefinitely! I know it's frustrating, but the idea is to come through this, not keep repeating it. Rant over!

Day 2

Outdoor day.

Brush dogs ✔️
Help dh cut & put in fencing poles ✔️
Spread grass seed & rake ✔️
Water garden ✔️
Repot African violets ✔️
Encounter juvenile, gray rat snake ✔️
Sweep & tidy front porch ✔️
Walk the dogs with dh ✔️
Reach step goal ✔️

Next up a moonlight stroll with dh & the dogs checking out the stars & possibly a meteor.

As for the snake, I had put the bag of potting soil on the front porch (beer) cooler a couple hours before I used it. When I picked it up to pot the flowers there was my scaly friend. Dh swept it off the porch.
