Where does kickboxing fit in?

Does kickboxing counts as "cardio" or "total body toning"?

Joanna,

I am new to the forum and have been doing vf for about a year. I am a nurse and work 3 12 hour shifts a week, so have only 4 days a week to exercise. And my schedule varies - a lot. I am currently doing a 30 to 45 min cardio tape (usually a Firm tape) and Ripped. I would like to move into a more advanced routine, and would like some suggestions. I am considering doing Cathe's pyramid or gym series next. I am already working out about an hour and a half at a time, and am realizing that I will probably need to bump it up to two hours. Also, I prefer step aerobics for cardio. I would consider myself an intermediate to advanced. My one weakness is upper body. Would love to built up to do P90X, but can't do a pull up to save my life.

I appreciate any input anyone has on this!

Thanks,
Amber

A very useful post (that I just discovered!).
Thanks, Joanna!

(though I must say, THIS part of your plan would take me a looooong time! LOL!:
