Most of my life! I followed a PBS yoga show in my childhood, and my mother was always buying something to help us both with our weight issues. We had the ab wheel, ropes that attached to a doorknob, a Mark Eden bust developer.
I was always outside playing. When I got my first job I joined a Jack LaLanne Health Club in NYC. I've had memberships at YMCAs, a Nautilus gym in 1980 which was my first taste of weight training, the women's places (Gloria Stevens et al), Butterfly Life, World Gym, now Planet Fitness.
I became a home videot, meaning tapes and DVDs, not just TV shows, in 1983 when a VCR rental place opened in an electronics store near us. It had a beaded curtain with a porn section in back.
The first tapes I rented were Jazzercise and Kathy Smith Ultimate workout. Then I began buying tapes - the Nautilus workouts with Stacey Benson, Kathy Smith and a couple Jane Fondas. One day I got a Collage catalogue in the mail and the rest is history.
