Accurate heart rate monitor without chest strap??

I have a Polar HRM with the chest strap but I think I'm allergic to it!
I wore it two days in a row for extended times and now I have red bumps where it was. So, I' m wondering if any of the activity trackers that measure HR are accurate?

Anyone have a brand or model they would recommend?

Thanks!

I also had the Polar heart rate monitor with chest strap. I liked that brand so much that I switched to the Polar A360 which is an activity tracker that measures heart rate from your wrist. I upgraded this model to an A370 which measures your heart rate continuously as opposed to the A360 which only measured it when you asked it to (like when you are working out). I would highly recommend.

I used Polar with a strap for many years. A while ago my HRM broke and went running to a Best Buy to get a new one. It seems the ones with straps are no longer a thing.

I got the Garmin Forerunner 35 with wrist HRM. I think is pretty accurate. At the beginning it was acting up frequently (dropping way below or increasing HR suddenly) I figure out that putting the HRM on various minutes before the start of the workout and not tightening the strap too much helps keep working well during the workout.

I have an Apple Watch (series 1) that tracks really well. When I first got it I would wear it in the same position on my wrist for normal wearing and working out. Half the time it showed -0- and the other half 58 or 73. Well I started reading reviews and figured out that wearing it higher up on my wrist made it track HR perfect. Like it’s barely half an inch about but it tracks perfectly.
