KCM's Cardio Quick Fix: Reviews, Breakdowns, Opinions, and Thoughts

I want to do a review of this DVD, but figured if I waited until I did the whole thing that it would never get done. So, I thought I'd start this thread where I (along with anyone else with an opinion (of which there are PLENTY here at VF! )) could post their thoughts about this DVD.

I did Workout 1 from Cardio Quick Fix. It was a good workout for this morning, but I'm not sure of what I think of the workout for the long term. It has fresh moves and combinations - you haven't done this workout before. BUT, she does two combinations in it, building each one a move at a time. In other words, there is a lot of TIFTing.

I thought the music was really good. Much of it was vocal and it seemed to fit the workout really well. For me, music is "good" as long as it goes beyond the standard techno beat stuff that is used so much and as long as it fits the workout. I don't expect "good" music to be stuff I listen to in real life.

The set was kind of forgettable to me. It was bright and it was easy to see; I didn't like it particularly, but I didn't dislike it either.

The only background exerciser I really noticed was Noelle, the new modifier. There wasn't a whole lot for her to do in this workout in terms of modification because most of the moves were low impact. She didn't put in hops when the others did and that was about it. I imagine there will be more call for modifications in the second workout.

Thanks for starting this thread, Laura S.
I have done Workout #1 so far, have been battling a stomach bug this weekend and feeling under the weather which is the only reason I havn't done both workouts yet
I loved Workout #1 but I am a huge KCM fan so would be hard pressed to find anything I didn't like about one of her workouts. I thought Noelle did a great job of modifying but agree that in this workout, there wasn't really a whole lot for her to do, still, I am glad she's there. Love the music, think the new set is nice and bright (as well as uncluttered). Yes, alot of TIFTing but I expected that from Kelly. I enjoyed the new, creative moves and had a blast doing this workout. For me, it was a solid Intermediate workout I am looking forward to exploring the great premixes as well as doing that Abs/Hips/Glutes Bonus workout. I LOVE Kelly's lower body floorwork.

This one is definitely a winner for me, exactly what I wanted from a KCM floor cardio workout. All the girls seem to be having a great time so the "fun" factor is there for me, as well. ZERO dread factor and I look forward to doing it again (the sign of a true winner for me).

I viewed the first workout before I did it. Upon viewing, I thought I would get annoyed with the TIFTing and going through the routine several times. But when I actually DID the workout, I loved it. I just thought the moves were such fun. Usually with TIFTing, I get impatient repeating the routine again and again. With this one, I wanted to do more. This will be one of my favorites for sure.

I forgot to mention the music. Loved it! I like the part where a new song started and Kelly said, "I love this song."

caligurl, I hate TIFT'ing, but for some reason it did not bother me in this workout. Each workout has two segments, but in the premixes, she offers options to do one segment from each of the two main workouts (does that make sense?) I think I will use that most often to avoid getting tired of the workout.

I think someone had asked Kelly about doing more kickboxing/boxing and she said she wanted to do a different type of cardio this time so people would not get tired of her boxing/kickboxing. I'll be happy to add "kickboxing 2 and TLC 2 " if she ever does workouts along those lines.

I'm looking forward to receiving the new KCMs this week (maybe today?) so obviously cannot comment other than what I've seen in clips. Regarding set & backgrounders, I love the brick but am not a fan of the pink walls though I realize that's probably Greg's doing. Now this may seem petty but I do feel there's one too many exerciser: the woman in the back who is often obscured by Kelly. She upsets the visual symmetry (for me), makes the set feel more crowded and isn't always clearly visible. She was also in a couple from the last series. I'm a fan of having a couple of modifiers so we have beginner, intermediate and advanced options. In my opinion there's no advantage to squeezing in an additional person. But maybe that's just me.

Anyway it certainly won't keep me from loving and doing Kelly's workouts.

I believe the woman you are talking about is Kelly's sister in law.

Gina, I don't mind the amount of background exercisers, but I think they are a little too close together. I think they could have been spread out a little bit more. I hope that does not sound nitpicky! (oh, well..)
