Polar chest strap with watch recommendations

Does anyone have any experience using a Polar chest strap paired with a watch? I would like to do an experiment of continuous heart rate tracking with a chest strap during the day while I'm at work. I've had a few different versions of fitbit and the calorie tracking has always been very off.

Thanks for any info!

I use the Polar F7 and really like it, and I think it does a good job with calorie expenditure.

Thanks! I've found the wristband monitors to not be as accurate as the chest straps. Maybe someone else has had a different experience with them.

I used Polar for years and finally switched to the Apple Watch. I simply wanted something I could wear all day and not look clunky. I wore both watches when I first got the Apple Watch. The heart rate was almost identical on both. Previously I used a Fitbit Versa for maybe a week and found the heart rate to be grossly incorrect! Now I only use the Apple Watch with the chest strap...the same chest strap I used with Polar. I get the same info.

I have the Polar M400 with chest strap and am happy with it. I had the fitbit HR a few years ago and the HR was way off.

The Polar watch is a bit clunky, so I only wear it while working out, not all day. I charge and sync it once a week. It records weekly and daily graphs etc.

I have found all wrist trackers inaccurate (for me). I have an older polar watch/chest strap which is very accurate but I don't like watches. I thought about buying the Polar H7 chest strap which has Bluetooth and can work with many other devices.....but now on my radar is the Wahoo Fitness Tickr X.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts! I have an older Wahoo Fitness Tickr. It's been accurate but still a bulky fit; maybe the newer versions aren't. I ended up purchasing a Polar H10 and will be testing it soon.

I agree with everyone about the fitbit wrist HR being off.

Beth, please report back on the H10 once you have used it enough to have an opinion. Thanks.

I wonder will this connect to a fitbit?

I always pair mine with my phone propped up against the TV. I like to use it with an app called zone alarm that beeps to let you know when you're out of the zones you set, and shows your heart rate in big numbers. I didn't find any Apple watch apps that worked well with it.
