Hi all!

Today's Workout: For the next few days I'm shuffling the order of Jessica's Calm & Strong rotation. Today I did Prehab from the original Walk Strong set.

Wow, all this talk of snow! Luckily the only snow in my world is what I can see on the Sierra Nevada mountains off in the horizon.

Our library reopens to the public for browsing on Tuesday. We were briefly open for a few weeks last November but then had to shut down when Covid rates got bad. A local TV station even came to my branch this morning to film a story about it!

Yogapam: Sounds like you are making excellent progress in your Essentrics certification! I would like to hear what your beginner class thinks. For myself, it took several "go's" at CS/Essentrics before it clicked.

Take care everyone!

Today’s workouts:
~taught Essentrics on zoom
~6 km woodsy trail hike
~Adriene’s 30 Days of Yoga: Day 3
~Insight Timer: Flow Chimes sound meditation

I hope everyone in the snow belt is staying safe & warm!

Garrie - Impressive workouts! I see you have the Barre Above cert, I am interested in that. How was it? Are you teaching barre regularly?

Sandra & Beth - My friends enjoyed the class and want to make it a regular thing. I was surprised at that as two of the four are quite sedentary. I slowed things down, kept the trademarks simple, & didn’t do a lot of floor toning. I remember Essentrics was an acquired taste & it took me a while to get into it. But I think the newer workouts are more enjoyable than the older CS ones. And there was only CS when I first tried it.

Waves to all!

Mornin' all I planned weights and yoga for last nighth but got stuck late at the office. Anyway, I managed:

~ LWR Day 7 which was a blog post I read at work;
~ LWR Day 8, a 30 minute full body workout;
~ A 10 minute yoga inspired stretch routine by Gisele Mari (Glo)

Sandra, good luck with your library reopening. Mine is still closed except for book holds pickup. How is the situation where you live?

Everyone have a good day.

Our l libraries are still doing curbside only too; I miss browsing! The staff there has been super-nice, but I feel bad about constantly calling to schedule pick-ups. Also, the loans from other libraries are taking much longer since I think they are still putting items into 3-day isolation.

Pam, isn't it great introducing people new to exercise who haven't really done it before? I keep trying to do that with my mom; she has done a little here and there. In fact, she just told me that she was using routines from "Bloom Young" - anyone familiar with that? Here's the link:

I didn't do a cartoon for Hump Day yesterday, so here's a bit of yoga humor (I'm feeling a bit like the second-to-last bullet right now!):

Our little group is quiet this week - I'm talking to myself here!

Seriously, I hope everyone is okay. I know there's a lot going on in everyone's lives.

I cobbled together different routines for a Franken-workout day, albeit a low-key one. This chilly yin practice was one of them:

I’m here Beth & I’ll be back later to post my day. I plan to try that chilly winter yin class soon, it looks interesting! But I think I’ll do it in my cozy corner by the fire lol!

Pam, I didn't have a fire but I was definitely warm! I like Matt's low-key style and plan to try more of his yin practices.

I'm here, too with

Today's Workout: As part of Jessica Smith's Calm & Strong rotation I did Core Control from Build Balance & Inner Strength.

Pat58 and Beth: Since reclosing for our December-January lockdown we have offered curbside pickup and appointments for public computer use (no browsing, programs, hanging out, etc.). A couple weeks ago the lockdown was lifted and we are in the Purple tier, which is the most restrictive but does allow 25% capacity. I don't know the exact numbers yet, but when we reopen Tuesday we'll be able to have maybe 15-20 patrons in the branch at one time (and yes we'll have someone at the door with a clicker!). Everyone will have to wear a mask and we'll ask them to keep their visit to an hour or less. We'll still keep curbside for those who prefer it. Oh, and we just shortened our returns quarantine from 96 hours to 24! Baby steps -- just hope we don't have yet another surge that has us closing back down.

Waving to all!

Sandra I wish our libraries had partial occupancy here! They aren't prevented from doing so; we have occupancy restrictions but are not currently in any kind of lockdown. (There had been some local areas designated as "orange" zones recently, and some places like restaurants and gyms had to fully shut down any indoor services, but those restrictions were lifted.) It must just be a decision of the county. I get it but I miss it! (A 24 hour return quarantine does seem much more reasonable to me.)
