Anyone Else Do this?

I depend on many avenues to help me with my health and fitness journey. This place is one of them. I recently made a personal decision to get off FB so that I spend my time differently. BUT... I found I also had a couple of groups I enjoyed being a part of. Like VF Roost, and following a couple of instructors.

So, I went back in and stripped down my profile to nothing other than those few groups. No friends. All my settings are private. Just access to fitness pages that help me.

Please tell me I'm not crazy or that I'm alone in doing this! Following certain instructors is very motivating for me.

I would love to hear some thoughts on this.

I have never done Facebook.
Recently I noticed one fitness instructor, BJ Gaddour, say he was abandoning social media, (specifically Instagram) even though it would hurt his business because it was not allowing him to focus on what matters. He said it was killing his attention span.

So it's not just you.

3 weeks ago I deactivated all of my social media accounts. I found they were bringing too much negativity into my life. I am determined to focus on improving both my mental and physical health. I am not missing FB at all. I am doing quite a bit of Yin Yoga and discovering new youtube instructors.

Good idea! The only reason I still have it is for my fitness stuff. I've already unfollowed most of my 'friends '

I have definitely found more instructors on Youtube. FB will be an occassional check in. I never did any of the other media plateforms. I already feel better not have a public acct there.

My focus has shifted quite quickly to other more important things.

I've definitely considered doing this. I do mostly only use Facebook for some health/fitness groups.

Lately Reddit is much more of a time-suck for me. That's probably the one I need to deactivate. Yet I love all the adorable animal photos that people post! Quite a conundrum.

I never joined FB, but I have thought about joining it recently to follow instructors and join their FB groups. I think I would join w/ a fake name...
I do feel like I miss out on different instructor groups by not being on FB, but I honestly don't want to clutter my life w/ it.

VF is my social media!
