I am shocked to hear the news about Luke Perry! We lost him way too young!

My heart grieves for Luke's family and friends. So sad to lose him at such a young age.

Oh no! He's so young! I'm gonna have to listen to some English Beat now.

He had cancer. I just have a compilation cd, which I will play tomorrow.

It's always so sad to see this thread bumped up to the top of the list.

I remember The (English) Beat was popular in college. RIP

Two other recently passed musical figures, Scott Walker of the Walker Brothers, known for the 60's hit The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore, and legendary session drummer Hal Blaine who played on tons of hits and was still drumming at age 90. My personal favorite of his was Herb Alpert's A Taste Of Honey.

There is a Hal Blaine playlist on Spotify. However, my music geek husband said he actually did not play on every song on it. Have you seen the documentary on The Wrecking Crew?

Yes, that was a fun film. I also liked the documentary about Tower Records.
