You favorite stretching/mobility workouts

I've noticed my flexibility isn't what it use to be. I also have noticed the tightness I've started getting in my legs/low back contributes to the aches and pains I sometimes gets, esp after a long night being a night shift nurse.

So I'm dedicated to working on this by adding more stretching and mobility work after lifting, and spending one workout a week on flexibility and mobility.

What are your favorites? I will take books, streaming, esp free sites, and dvd or vhs workouts.

I was at my most flexible when I was doing Oxycise every day--that was about 20 years ago--and I weighed 80 pounds more than I do now.

Hi there, for short stretch to use after my workouts, these are my go to stretch:

- Cathe's Stretch Max (any of the three segments 16 to 20 min. or so)
- Si6: Slim & Limber (14 min.).
- 10MS: Fitness Ball Workouts: Stretch (10 min.).

If I have extra time:

- A.M & P.M. Stretch (these are around 30 min. and the bonus power stretch 20 min.)
- Trudy Styler's Cardio Dance Flow (Bonus Foam Roll Stretch 25 min.)

For a full hour stretch/mobility:

- Annette Fletcher's Stretch & Joint Mobility Therapy
- Maui Pilates Abs Made easy, the "warm up" is a great 20 minutes pilates stretch and the rest is Pilates very gentle, good for mobility and flexibility.
- Si6: Cool It Off
- Lastics
- The Method, Dynamic Firming and Flexing
- Trudy Styler's Core Strength Pilates
- PSC Stretch and Stamina, start with deep stretches specially for the lower body, then it hits the core and is challenging and the barre section hit the triceps nicely with the resistance band, so it is a lot more than just stretching.
- I also like the Beginner Classical Stretch DVD that is for mobility (can't remember the name now).

Some other stretches from sets (if you've them):

- JNL: Fusin Stretch (25 min.)
- FéFit: My favorite are Stretch 1 and then 2.
- Katami 4x4: Repair workouts

I like Lastics, and I like Bendy Body even more. My all time favorite for flexibility is Paul Grilley's Yin Yoga though. Nothing like holding a pose for 5 minutes to get seriously flexible.

Yogadownload.com has some free classes and you can locate them via the menu search option. If I remember correctly, you will need to set up a username to view the free classes, however, I don't recall that a CC was required.
