I'm using an HDMI cable from the TV to a mini HDMI cable connected to my Surface tablet. Works great. I have the Surface on a stool about 14 inches off the floor, so I can see the screen if I'm on the floor doing yoga or any other floor work.

I use to do it that way a few years ago but now there are some better ways in addition to the HDMI cable, If I use it at home and want a big screen, I use Roku for Gokker, BeachBody, Daily Burn and Les Mills, now you can use Chrome, Playstation, and most other equipment like that, it's great because it streams in HD and your laptop is not involve unless you want it to be

I use AppleTV to stream from my Macbook. AppleTV also has a YouTube app, so if I'm doing a YouTube workout I don't have to use the laptop. (The TV in my workout room is not a smart TV.)
