Two versions, one if you've had kids, another if you haven't. I just use my normal bar soap in the shower to clean it, you don't need their special stuff. It's just soap.
The best thing ever invented for a woman's monthly period! I never had a leak too. I love that one.

I don't know how I missed these cups and the fabric pads! They are a geat idea. So much better for your wallet, body, and the environment!

I switched from the Diva Cup to nothing but cloth pads to just this month the Sckoon Cup. The Diva (smallest) was leaving me very sore, even after years of use. The Sckoon is softer and shorter and I had better luck getting it to seal, too, however it is short and difficult to remove for me. I kind of panic because it's so high up there. I'm hoping to find one that is softer, smaller but still long.

Just wanted to add this as there are MANY cups out there, and they're great. Cloth pads are also awesome. Switching to these methods kept me from getting the infections I would get so often. I reverted back to regular pads a few months ago out of desperation because my cloth pads disintegrated and the Diva wasn't working. However, I ended up with two infections again during that time.

I think next I'm going to try the MeLuna cup when all of its products are available to sell in the US. They have endless choices for size, grip, softness and length.

For cleaning I use Trader Joe's Lemon hand soap (it dissolves the blood from the holes more than any other soap) an at nighttime I soak it in hydrogen peroxide for a bit. Boiled it once but that's it.

I've just remembered one of the most positive menopause stories I've ever heard. One day I met a former co-worker whom I hadn't seen for several years. Her formerly lank, lifeless, absolutely straight hair was full and curly. I assumed she'd had a perm, but she told me that with menopause her hair turned naturally curly. She was even more delighted about another effect: No!More!Migraines!

I had an easy-peasy menopause, though my husband would probably tell a different story.
Seriously though, I had about a handful of hot flashes, even fewer night sweats and it was all over. The moodiness leading up to it wasn't particularly pleasant but was thankfully not long-lived. Mine was a bit earlier than the norm (around 47) and I'm sooo glad to be done with periods.

**OLD THREAD ALERT**

I listened to the following podcast yesterday and thought about this thread.

http://everydaypaleo.com/paleo-lifes...ryday+Paleo%29

Don't let the fact that the word "Paleo" is in the name of the podcast scare you away. There's very little paleo talk in this particular podcast. They interview a women's health specialist (Dr. Brooke Kalanick). The first half of the podcast she talks about hormones and other things that effect women from feeling their best. Around the 40-45 minute mark she transitions to talking about menopause. She talks about four factors that sometimes determine whether you will have a rocky menopause or an easier transition. I was sort of curious whether the women in this thread that said they had an easier menopause would agree with the four points that she talks about. I thought it was really good information and wanted to share

Kalanick is a co author of the book Ultimate You with Joe Dowdell. She does the diet part of the book, Dowdell does the exercise part. The exercise part resembles the NROL books, except the workouts start easier and progress more slowly. Also, until the last phase, the workouts can be done at home. I really like the book and have mentioned it here before.
