Your favorite Cathe set to build strength

I’m thinking instead of continuing with full body workouts, I should do a strength rotation in Jan because that is the best time to do some heavy weights. Which ones are your favorite sets to build strength? I’m mainly looking for the weight workouts. I will probably only do little cardio like hiit 1-2 times for about 10-20 mins.

Thanks!

If you're ready and willing to commit to 1-rep max and a lot of very focused weight work for 3 months, then I think your best bet is STS. XTrain and Ripped with Hit are good as well. If you want something simple, I'd say go with Slow and Heavy. Moving at that pace gives you a lot of time under tension without having to go super heavy with your weights and work to failure.

  • Xtrain
  • Ripped with HIIT

STS followed by Xtrain (Strength DVDs only for both sets).

ETA: Slow & Heavy is pretty darn good, too.

1. STS- strength workouts (especially mesos 2 and 3)

2. X -Train

3. 4DS - the weight workouts (the weight work in this series is an often overlooked strength building gem)

I did STS and had great results without doing the one-rep max. I just went a bit heavier than what I thought I should use and adjusted from there. I had been lifting for a long time and had a good idea what weight I could handle. Also, if you're looking to save money, you could conceivably not purchase Meso Level 1. These are more endurance based and I think if you've been lifting awhile you could just start off with Meso 2.

That being said, I also got good results from the weight dvds used in Ripped with HiiT series.

Hi Stacey,
I just searched on Cathe.com and it's in the User's Manual which is only available as a hard copy or download purchase. I'll have to dig mine up first.

I agree, STS is probably the most comprehensive set to build strength. Since each week has (3) workouts, it's easy to fit cardio days in.

I have my guide beside me. There are 4 rotations. Which one did you want?
