Favorite Vegan & Vegetarian Recipes

I’ve been following the Plant Based thread on GD so thought I’d start a recipe thread. Please share your favorite recipes!

This is a fave of mine, my DH loved too. I did spice it up with a diced jalapeño pepper & added some frozen peas at the end. It’s an Instant Pot recipe but there are instructions to adapt it to stove top or oven.

No recipe suggestion but thank you for posting the link to this stew, Pam. You got me at "Portobello". I'll try it this weekend. Never met mushrooms I didn't like!

Whole Roasted Cauliflower I've made this many times. I've used cut-up cauliflower and a bag of baby carrots.

I use the taco filling from the Amazing Cauliflower Tacos in taco salads, taco burgers, burritos, etc. I've taken to a Mexican themed potluck and it was well received.

Every recipe I've tried from Fat Free Vegan Kitchen have been delicious. The "Fat Free" is a bit of a misnomer. Rather, they are oil-free. Homestyle Lentil Soup is a favorite. I really like her Dirty Little Secret Soup that is quick to make.

This is a rich, special occasion cake for us. Sweet Potato Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Sweets Frosting I subbed white whole wheat flour for the spelt flour and it worked fine.

Thanks for the links Susan! I especially like the whole roasted cauliflower. It would be great for a dinner party with both vegetarians & non vegetarians as it could be a main dish or a side dish.

LOL, Dana - I'm right there with you with the mushroom love!

Thanks, Pam and Susan - I'll definitely put these on the list of new recipes to try. That Whole Roasted Cauliflower looks amazing!

Susan, thank you for the links. I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian but I don't eat meat often and I love lots of mushrooms, veggies, grains and spices instead. I also like to cook and do so regularly. I've bookmarked the recipes you've linked and will try them for sure! Thank you!

No specific recipe, but The Detoxinista has great easy to follow and tasty recipes. She has 3 cookbooks that are fantastic (I particularly like her Instant Pot Cookbook), and she also has tons of great recipes in her website.

I received a Vegetarian Times cookbook back in the 90s and this is easily the recipe I've made the most. Mountain Stew-

https://apoetinthekitchen.wordpress....mountain-stew/

Even meat eaters like it! Easy to make and it is perfect on a cold day. Enjoy!
