I first heard about these in the Mehmet Oz/Michael Roizen "You...." book series.

Thank you for posting the rave on the book. I enjoy learning more about my body! And having the latest research is not bad, either.

ETA: You don't have to meditate for an hour a day (unless you want to!). A study showed that 12 minutes per day was good for stress reduction:
