Stay Away From Heavy Weights

Or so says Ellen Barrett. http://www.ellenbarrett.com/stay-away-heavy-weights

I'm a big believer in doing what works. This kind of thinking always has me .

Pretty sure I messed up my shoulder doing pushups in the military. That's right Ellen, bodyweight So we sacrifice our bone health for our ligament/tendon health? You can hurt yourself by doing too much of anything. Everybody's body is different.

The only thing that article is good for is playing a drinking game with how many times she says ligaments/tendons.

Oh Ellen. Just when I was finally getting to a point where I could forget your inane comments about "skinny" being so great and was planning on using some of your workouts during my upcoming recovery week.

Then this.

Ellen, if you are reading this, please put a sock in it. I beg you. Seriously.

LOL
Well, I just threw my 30s out the window immediately after reading this, and I scared the hell out of a cat in the process.

Well I better find me a manly man to carry my grocery bags, because Ellen has spoken!

So glad I was never her fan.

Ellen Barrett also wrote a whole book about working out according to your Zodiac sign, so I've always taken anything that came out of her mouth/keyboard with a big ole grain of salt.

Stop at 5lbs? Well I will hire someone to start carrying my groceries, oh and no more picking up my nephews and nieces. Good thing I don't have a young baby or else I would have to let him/her know that mommy can no longer pick you up as you might upset my skeletal form or whatever. Good grief!

Just when I thought men were bad about this! A woman was telling me that her boyfriend is a personal trainer and he would give me a free session. First thing he said was we can use some 5 lb weights for squats. Now I can squat 200 pounds so I told him nicely with a smile on my face what he can do with those 5 lbs dumb bells, slowly and walked away. Ellen might need to stop all of this. Really 5 lbs max. Did she not think of those of us with small children that like to be held? Wow! She always kind of seemed a little ...... but this is wow!
