Amazon now wants everyone to have...

a tax ID number. What? Now we have to register ourselves for tax purposes regardless of the selling status. Good grief. They are making it impossible for the individual person to do anything on that site. Between limiting the cost you can charge for dvds and now this, I think I just might be done with them as a seller. I never make money, just re-coop a portion of what I've spent on workout dvds. Not worth being hassled over.

Sorry for the rant.

They are also charging tax on Kindle books. It's coming through the air for crying out loud!

I just removed my listing and decided I need to make better choices with my selections to begin with and I won't have the need to sell. I don't do it as a business. I know I could return unopened dvds, but I don't see it as Mary's, Collage, Fit Favs or even Amazon problem if I change my mind on a purchase.

As a buyer, I really do enjoy using Amazon. It's my go to place, most of the time.

I'm sure the IRS has finally cracked down on amazon. It's not really their fault we have taxes.....

Where did you see that? I posted a book earlier this week and didn't have to provide one. Is it only for certain types of items?

I received an email from Amazon stating that if you sell 50 items or more a year, you have to get a tax ID number. Some of these dvds are sold for $1.99!! Absolutely, nothing made on them. So now, if I want to continue selling, I'll have to prove my purchases vs selling ratios etc. Not worth it!

I would rather sell them on Craigslist or at a yard sale or our local FB page.

I know, I quit selling at Amazon and this was one of many reasons why.

We should start a Facebook page for selling our workouts. What do you think?

That is a great idea--selling on Facebook!

I guess I don't sell enough for that. I've been trading in a lot of stuff lately. Not DVDs though, since prices have gotten so low.
