Training to Schock Your System - From Fitness Mag

Was reading one of my fitness mags the other day and there was an excerpt from Tom Holland saying the following (not in his exact words). If you want to shock your body, work your muscles for 3-4 days in a row. He only says to do it every once in a while, but that it helps break a plateau. Anyone read this somewhere? Anyone tried it?

I've done back to back workouts via the form of cardio/weight circuits, but that's all.

I have tried it in the past, and it works temporarily. It's just a temporary overtraining effect.

It's not something thought up by Holland or anyone specifically; it's an old idea, helps get past strength training plateaus or whatever, depending on the weight and intensity, guess it could be said "shock" the muscles used.

With light weights, it is perfectly ok to work circuits back to back, IMO, but not a good idea to go heavy on the same muscles more often than every 48 hours.

Just my opinion.
