I've never read such ridiculous self-absorbed nonsense in my life!
I've only attended a relative few yoga classes in my life and they've all been mixed when it comes to race, sex, age and ability, including having a couple of African American teachers. What an obnoxiously silly post.

I followed the link to the original article. I read the whole thing thinking that this surely has to be an article from the Onion. I still don't know if it's real.

The navel-gaving and thinly-veiled superiority complex were nauseating. Yowza. Good grief.

And why didn't the yoga instructor notice that there was someone new in the class? When I went to my first bikram yoga class, the teacher asked for a show of hands from the newbies so he could pay a little more attention to us.

ETA: Same with me Lucky Star. All of my bikram yoga classes have had a mixture of shapes, sizes, colors and abilities in them. The author needs to get out and experience the real world.

I initially read about it today from this blog and it was mind boggling to say the least
Warning...it's a long read.

Wow, I find the self centeredness amazing! It hurts my heart to read this. Nothing says, "You suck and don't belong here" more than avoid one's eyes.

On the other hand, I'm very impressed that this black woman was willing to walk into a studio filled with self serving hipsters and take a yoga class. I applaud her courage.
