Oh not your fault at all. I think before you get to the pullups logger they want to make you go through a bunch of other stuff to catch your interest. I lose patience with those and just sign off....fast!

The original question was whether push-ups are enough to build arm 'strength.' Rethinking that, does that mean visible muscles, toned muscles or just plain strength so you can do more push-ups?

The person I spoke with about push-ups had really niced toned arms with visible muscle. So, I'm thinking push-ups are enough for that, but I don't know what everyone else's answers are referring to

I guess I meant: all of the above. I would like to BE stronger and I would like to LOOK more toned with some visible arm muscle...

Regarding whether push-ups will make your arms LOOK good, as with every other muscle group, this will depend upon how lean you are. For the muscles, regardless of where they are, to look cut and defined, is a combination of the work and the "insert bad word". :0) So if you are already lean, yes, you will see the muscles, but they won't be the round isolation rep type for looks, they are the strong ones! Think Yoga arms, not "gun show".

I understand eating clean (which is something I find MUCH easier to do now that I'm working my tail off daily--I'm not doing all this for nothing!) and I def am NOT looking for the big guns....Yoga arms sound perfect to me!

Okay, so $64,000 question .... (If I were lean) would push-ups make my arms look like yours, Red?

If yes, how many years might it take :-)
